Fireplace Makeover

It just took a year and 3 months (I’m in school… soooo… yeah….), a lot of scraping with a heat gun, and six cans of high heat white spray paint. The paneling was attached with nails and glue.  Once removed, we discovered a huge crack from the ceiling to the fireplace with huge chunks of glue clinging to life on the wall and bricks.  Fast forward a year.  A friend of mine snuck into my house for my birthday and had the drywall replaced & painted.  Huzzah!

Three months later:  Since I am on fall break from school, I was determined to finish the fireplace makeover.  I still have a ton of coursework to do, but the fireplace is done. Ta Dah!

From the beginning with paneling to the end with no paneling:
